Jagrut, a social and charitable organisation spear headed by President Mr. Narendra Hirani firmly engaged in social welfare and women empowerment activities, now extends its support to the young, bright minds of the society.

A free summer Camp / Workshop was organised by Jagrut on 20th and 21st April 2012 towards commitment in shaping the talents of children in Vile Parle.  Jagrut is an organisation that not only conducts events but initiates processes that are targeted towards a positive outcome. Jagrut aims to bring together different students from various schools and enable them to enhance their capability in building the future of our society. They encourage them to believe that they too can make a difference.

300 students from Std IV to VIII were exposed to various activities like Dance, Drawing, Yoga, Computer Basics by NIIT, Creative Writing, etc. Trained professionals from various fields guided the students throughout the workshop.

Documentary film screening followed by a grand finale party were few of the highlights of the workshop. The party was graced by child artists of Tarakh Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma fame.

This workshop aimed at creating awareness amongst the youth for a cleaner and greener environment with the Motto of ‘SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT’. Every child was given a sapling to be planted in their society.

Mr. Narendra Hirani, President – Jagrut further elaborates, “We are not only working towards the summer workshop to showcase the talents of these children; but hoping to bring about a social change for their welfare. With the participation of students, we have showed that the interactions, activities and support of the visitors have enriched them with a beautiful and meaningful experience.”
